  • Product description

Curved rail testing is a specialized performance testing technology for curved rails used in rail transit, crane transportation, and automated production lines. Its core function is to verify the structural strength, operational stability, and service life of curved rails under load, motion, and environmental conditions, ensuring safe load-bearing and smooth guidance in practical applications. It is widely applicable to curved tracks in subways and light rails, curved crane tracks, and circular conveyor rails in intelligent warehousing.

The core testing items for curved rails revolve around three dimensions: mechanical performance, operational adaptability, and environmental tolerance. Mechanical performance testing is fundamental and includes static load strength testing and dynamic load fatigue testing. Static load testing applies rated loads and overloads to the curved section and straight-to-curved transition section of the curved rail using a hydraulic loading system, measuring the rail's deformation and stress distribution to verify whether it meets design load-bearing requirements and prevent plastic deformation or fracture. Dynamic load fatigue testing simulates the impact of reciprocating motion of wheels and conveyor trolleys on the curved rail, testing its fatigue resistance through hundreds of thousands or even millions of cyclic loading cycles, and identifying potential cracking risks in welds and stress concentration areas.

Operational compatibility testing focuses on the precision of the fit between the curved rail and moving components, which is crucial for ensuring stable equipment operation. This test requires building a simulated operating platform, installing the matching wheels, sliders, and other components on the curved rail, and conducting reciprocating motion tests under actual operating speeds and load conditions. The test focuses on monitoring operating resistance, noise levels, component wear, and the guiding accuracy of the rail. Excessive deviation in the curved rail's curvature or substandard surface roughness can lead to a surge in operating resistance, accelerated component wear, and even the risk of derailment. These issues need to be addressed during testing by adjusting the rail installation reference and optimizing the surface treatment process.

Environmental tolerance testing is designed for the actual service scenarios of the curved rail, covering high and low temperature testing, corrosion resistance testing, and dust and water resistance testing. High and low temperature testing places the curved rails in a temperature-varying environment ranging from -40℃ to 60℃ to examine the impact of temperature changes on the rail material and dimensional accuracy. Corrosion resistance testing, through salt spray and damp heat tests, verifies the protective effect of the anti-rust coating or galvanized layer on the rail surface, particularly suitable for curved rails in high-humidity, high-salt-spray environments such as outdoor and coastal areas. Dust and water resistance testing simulates dust and rainwater intrusion into the rail connection gaps to evaluate its sealing performance and prevent internal structural corrosion or jamming.

The curved rail testing process must follow a standardized procedure: preliminary preparation—test implementation—data analysis—report issuance. Preliminary inspection of the curved rail's geometry and surface quality is necessary to ensure the specimens meet testing standards. During testing, data is collected in real time using equipment such as strain gauges, displacement sensors, and noise detectors. Subsequent analysis of the data using specialized software determines whether the curved rail meets the standards and provides data support for rail structure optimization and process improvement.

As rail transit develops towards high speed and automated production lines towards intelligence, curved rail testing technology is upgrading towards precision and intelligence. By introducing technologies such as 3D laser scanning and real-time IoT monitoring, performance evaluation of curved rails throughout their entire life cycle can be achieved, contributing to the safe and stable operation of related equipment.
